It happened just after 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22.
Two Suffolk County police officers, along with members of the East Moriches Fire Department responded to a 911 call reporting the incident at the end of Bay Street in East Moriches at 2:07 p.m.
Officers Michael Pitts and Harrison Dow and East Moriches Fire Department Assistant Chief Robert Kanas threw a rope out to the woman, instructed her to tie it around her waist and pulled her out of the marsh, police said.
After the woman was rescued, members of the East Moriches Fire Department rescued her dog, Charlie. The woman, Paula Eagle, 68, of East Moriches, and the dog were not injured.
